Day 2 - Victor Harbor. (part 1)

We got up early and took a long walk over the jetty and around Granite Island. The jetty's a kilometre and a half long and then the walk around the island is another 1 &1/2 k's. The early morning sunlight was beautiful and there wasn't a breath of wind at that hour, so even though the car's thermometer read 3 degrees, it didn't feel nearly that cold- just lovely for walking. The water was glassy and still and shining! At the end of the walk was a cafe that made good coffee. We sat and relaxed and enjoyed the view.

Looking back at Victor from Granite Is.

There were lots of these cute little quail things running around on the island. I think they had babies too..lots of chirping!

Straight ahead is Antarctica. This is the Southern Ocean - nothing between here and the South Pole - it can get very chilly I imagine!
