I came across this site facilitating microfinancing to very small businesses in need - mainly in 3rd world countries. I like the idea that I am "loaning" the money, and hopefully being of some assistance. It seems a a very funny quirk of fate to me always, that I live the life I lead in one of the world's more affluent countries,while so many struggle.
