BOXING DAY 2006

Got up earlyish for a walk this morning...much needed after the excesses of yesterday..too much pudding and Aunty Jenny's chocolate coated nuts and maybe just a tiny bit too much wine. Anyway after the good rain we had Christmas Eve, everything is looking green again and clean and sparkling and the air is clear, so a good morning for walking.. passed this nativity scene
out the front of St martin's church.....obviously Joseph had a good Christmas also ..check out the jim beam in his shepherd's crook!!!

CHRISTMAS DAY 2006 part 2
As we had had the seafood Christmas lunch a week ago while Chris and Malin were still with us, we had a different variation with a baked ham - which was a huge success,(particularly with Dad), so we may need to incorporate it next year..will maybe bake the day before and have it cold as usual on xmas day.)- and roast potatoes and the chicken/mango salad. We decided it felt strange without Chris, so we set a place for him and put his pic on the table!! After a couple of Pimms this afforded us great amusement, but as lunch went on and through the Rose and into the Shaw Smith, we decided it looked a bit like a shrine and he was in danger of having something spilt on him, so Megs very sensibly popped him back on the wall.....but we were thinking of you chrissy!!!

After lunch, we lounged around in the debris playing with our new toys/watching dvd's and finishing up the wine. It was a lovely lovely calm and happy xmas day.
CHRISTMAS DAY 2006
Started with church ..the midnight sung eucharist at St Lukes. ..a lovely service with many elements of the traditional Anglican service, including choir complete with robes and a return to the older version of the Lord's Prayer complete with trespasses...so much nicer than sins I feel..hehehe.. Tim took his first communion with
great aplomb like he'd been doing it every Sunday forever.!!

These obligatory xmas day pics were taken just before lunch...the present giving had a distinct clothes theme to it, with Andrew receiving pictured polo shirt (with nice peach coloured horse hidden in the pic)., Dad receiving both shirt and pants he's wearing and Megan receiving the dress she's wearing..so here we all are dressed in our glad rags just before lunch.Tim is showcasing his "Handsome Tim's beer" that his mates gave him a case of for his 21st.
